Blue Turtle Life came about because it represents so much of who I am and what I’m into. It’s taken me many years to embrace the turtle’s motto of being comfortable in my own shell. The turtle only gets where it’s going if it sticks its neck out and there have been many times in my life when I have had to take a risk to get momentum.
The turtle is also known for its patience and that is a quality I need so much more of. The colors blue and green are some of my favorite, and I believe they are calm and soothing colors that are a beautiful antidote to the stress of my everyday life. The turtle’s home in the ocean is a place I love to be, the sound of surf and sea is one I never tire of.
I am a homeschooling momma of 6 kids. Two of my children are now married adults. One of my kids just started high school this year and another is finishing middle school, I also have two elementary age children. I home schooled my oldest two up to high school and while my younger kids have gone to public school for some years we started bringing them home last year due to sensory issues, migraines, learning difficulties and social issues. We foster to adopted four times and believe strongly that every child deserves and needs a loving home to grow up in. This is something my husband and I feel so strongly about but we are also the first to say it is not an easy road. We enjoy coming alongside young couples and families to encourage them to open their hearts and lives and accept the calling God puts on their hearts to “set the lonely in families”.
I have made homemade soap for well over twenty years and sold it under the name Blue Turtle Soap. I love to craft and make things with my own hands. Art is a passion of mine. I wanted to begin this blog so I could find a creative outlet for all these words bubbling up inside me wanting to spill out. Thank you so very much for stopping by and taking a look at what Blue Turtle Life is all about! Mahalo!
